Eurasian Research in Sport Science

To contribute to the world of science by publishing studies in basic and clinical areas related to physical education and sports sciences and to ensure that scientists, researchers, experts, students, and anyone interested in sports science can easily access scientific studies free of charge.

Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal (ERISS), Sport Education, Physical Education and Sport, Movement and Training, Sport Health, Exercise and Sport Psychology, Sport Sociology, Sport Information Technologies, Sport Management, Recreation, Sport Philosophy. Professional original research, reviews and case reports in the fields of Exercise and Sport in Disabled People are published. Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal is an academic and scientific international refereed journal published twice a year in June and December. The language of the journal is Turkish and English.

            GENERAL INFORMATION
- The article requiring an ethics committee must have an Ethics Committee Report. Manuscripts without an Ethics Committee Report will be returned to the authors. Ethics committee permission (committee name, date and number) should be specified in the method section.
- Researchers are required to obtain plagiarism reports for their works (10% similarity limit).
- There should be absolutely no information about the author(s) on the manuscript page. Author names, academic title, institution name, e-mail address and ORCID must be uploaded to the system.
- Have a competent institution or person write the English abstract.
- After the manuscript is submitted to the journal for publication, none of the authors can be deleted from the author list without the written permission of all authors, and no name can be added as an author and the author order cannot be changed.
At the end of the article; Declaration of Contribution Rate of Researchers, Ethics Committee approval, Conflict Declaration is required. If available, a Statement of Support and Acknowledgement may also be included.
- The acceptance or rejection response to the article may vary according to the review time of the referees.
- If the article is derived from a thesis or has been presented in a congress etc., it should be indicated in the system.
- In case presentations, it is necessary to include information that the informed consent form has been signed in the article.

All studies submitted to the journal should be prepared using the Journal Sample Template. Works not prepared according to the Journal Sample Template will be returned to the author(s).
Sample Template

 The language of the journal is Turkish and English. Turkish manuscripts must comply with the spelling rules of the Turkish Language Association. English equivalents of Turkish special terms should be indicated in brackets. When using English, English spelling rules should be adhered to.

- In a research article, the following sections should be included: ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, METHODS, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION. CONCLUSION and RECOMMENDATIONS sections can be added upon request. Review articles may not pay attention to this content.
- Title: The title should not exceed 15 words, should be written in 14 font size, with the first letters capitalised and centred. For articles written in Turkish, the title should be written in English under the Turkish title, and for articles written in English, the title should be written in Turkish under the English title. If the study has been previously presented in a congress or derived from a project, it should be indicated with a special sign (*) in the footnote.
- Abstract and Keywords: Turkish abstracts should be written under the title ‘Abstract’ and English abstracts should be written under the title ‘Abstract’. The abstract should be written in 11 point size, Times New Roman font, single line spacing, and single column. Both Turkish and English abstracts should include information about the purpose, information about the subjects, data collection tools, data analysis, summary findings and conclusion. ‘Keywords’ should be given just below the Turkish abstract and “Keywords” should be given just below the English abstract. It is sufficient to have 3 to 6 keywords.

- Main Text: Manuscripts should be written in standard A4 size in MS Word programme in 12 font size, Times New Roman font, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides of the page and 1.5 line spacing. All pages should be numbered starting from the title page. Care should be taken to ensure that the main text does not exceed 15 pages.
- Tables, graphics, figures and illustrations to be included in the main text should be shown in appropriate places in the text. The font size of the images should be 10 pt (9-11 pt) and should be prepared according to APA 7 style. Graphics, figures and pictures should be labelled and numbered and necessary explanatory text should be added under them. Table number and title should be written above the tables.

References: The last page of the manuscript should consist of the heading REFERENCES. References should be written in 10 font size and single line spacing and should be in APA style. Care should be taken to use up-to-date sources in the studies, and it is recommended that the number of sources should not exceed 50. All references should be written in alphabetical order

Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal is published twice a year, in June and December. In accordance with the publication policy of the journal, quantitative - qualitative research, review and review articles related to all areas of sport sciences are included. The publication language of the journal is Turkish and English. The journal covers the fields of Sport Education, Physical Education and Sport, Movement and Training, Sport Health, Exercise and Sport Psychology, Sport Sociology, Sport Information Technologies, Sport Management, Recreation, Sport Philosophy. It is a peer-reviewed journal published in accordance with the following ethical principles and rules in order to publish professional original research, review and case presentation in the fields of Exercise and Sport in Disabled People etc. Articles submitted to Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal that pass the preliminary evaluation are evaluated by a double blind review process and published electronically with free access.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been published elsewhere or submitted simultaneously to another journal for publication. Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal owns all publication rights of the articles accepted for publication. Manuscripts to be submitted to the journal must be uploaded to the journal system via the https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/eriss/policy address within DergiPark. Manuscripts sent to the editors, Editorial Board members or journal contact e-mail address are not accepted as official submissions and will not be evaluated. In multi-authored articles, after the article is submitted to the journal for publication, none of the authors can be deleted from the author list without the written permission of all authors. In addition, no name can be added as an author and the author order cannot be changed after the process has started.
All articles submitted to the journal are pre-evaluated by the Editorial Board. In the preliminary evaluation, articles:
a) Publication ethics,
b) Journal publication principles,
c) Scientific originality and currency,
d) Contribution to the literature of sports sciences,
e) The manuscript is checked for conformity with the journal's writing rules and article template.
The communication between the author(s) and the referees is provided only through the editors. In line with the reports from the referees, it may be decided to publish the article, to correct it within the framework of the referee reports, or to reject the article. Authors are informed about the refereeing process of their articles as soon as possible. If the author objects to the referee reports or if the reports from the referees contradict each other, the article is directed to a new referee (third referee). In line with the final referee reports, a final decision is made on whether the article will be published or not. Manuscripts for which corrections are requested should be submitted to the Editorial Board as soon as possible after the necessary corrections are made by the authors. If the author does not respond to the referee evaluation reports within an appropriate time frame, the article may be left to the next issue. In the event that the author(s) do not make the corrections requested by the referees within one publication period, the decision regarding the article belongs to the editorial board of the journal.

Publication Ethics
The following are the ethical responsibilities, roles and duties of the authors, journal editor, reviewers and publisher. The following ethical principles and rules have been prepared according to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE (https://publicationethics.org/)). In addition, information about the situations accepted as plagiarism and unethical behaviours in Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal is given.

Author(s)
The articles submitted to Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal should be original studies in the fields of Sport Education, Physical Education and Sport, Movement and Training, Sport Health, Exercise and Sport Psychology, Sport Sociology, Sport Information Technologies, Sport Management, Recreation, Sport Philosophy. Exercise and Sport in Disabled People, etc. must be original studies in the fields.
All sources (authors, online pages, personal interviews, etc.) used in the articles should be cited correctly and appropriately.
It should be stated that the articles submitted to the journal have not been sent to another journal, and the Copyright Transfer Form and similarity report should be uploaded and filled in.
Persons who do not contribute intellectually to the article should not be indicated as authors. Conflicts of interest regarding the submitted article should be indicated and the reason should be explained.
Authors may be asked to submit raw data about their work to the editorial board while the manuscript is in the refereeing process. In this case, authors are expected to share their raw data with the editorial board. Authors are obliged to keep the data related to a published article for 5 years.

Authors should inform the editor and the editorial board when they detect an error in their manuscript and should co-operate in the process of correction or retraction.

Reviewers
All manuscripts submitted to Eurasian Research in Sport Science are evaluated through a double blind review process. Double blind reviewing means that the authors are kept confidential from the referees and the referees are kept confidential from the authors in order to ensure an unbiased, objective and independent evaluation process. Manuscripts are sent to the referees for evaluation through the journal management system. The referees are required to fill out a form that includes the contribution of the article to the relevant field and their decision on whether the article is publishable or not and the reasons for these decisions. The ethical responsibilities and roles of the referees of Eurasian Research in Sport Science are as follows:
Referees are only required to referee articles related to their areas of expertise.
Reviewers are expected to agree to review articles without any conflict of interest. Referees should inform the editor when they realise any conflict of interest and refuse to referee the relevant article.
Reviewers should evaluate the articles impartially and objectively.
Reviewers are required to fill in the Referee Evaluation Form for the articles they evaluate, and are expected not to indicate their names on the forms in order not to damage the double blind review process. The referees are also required to state their decision on whether the manuscript is publishable or not and the reasons for their decision in this form.
The style used by the referees in their suggestions should be polite, respectful and scientific. Reviewers should avoid offensive, disrespectful and subjective personal comments. When referees are found to make such unscientific comments, they may be contacted by the editor or editorial board to review and correct their comments.
Reviewers are required to complete their evaluations within the time given to them and are expected to comply with the ethical responsibilities specified herein.

Editor
The editor is required to comply with the ethical responsibilities listed below in the ‘COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors’ (COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (https://publicationethics.org/files/Code_of_conduct_for_journal_editors_Mar11.pdf)) and ‘COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors’ (COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (https://publicationethics.org/files/u2/Best_Practice.pdf)) published by the Committee on PublicationEthics (COPE (https://publicationethics.org/)).
The editor is responsible for all articles published in the journal. The ethical duties and responsibilities of the editor are as follows:
General Responsibilities
The editor is obliged to endeavour to improve the quality of the journal and to contribute to its development.
The editor should support the authors' freedom of expression.


Relations with Readers
The editor should ensure that sections of the journal where peer review is not required (letters to the editor, invited papers, conference announcements, etc.) are clearly indicated.
The editor should endeavour to ensure that the articles published are compatible with the knowledge and skills of the readers of the journal.


Relations with Reviewers
The editor should ask the reviewers to evaluate the articles in accordance with their knowledge and expertise. Thus, it should be ensured that the articles are appropriately evaluated by experts in the field.
The editor is obliged to require the reviewers to state that they have no conflicts of interest regarding the article before evaluating an article.
The editor should communicate all necessary information about the peer review process and what is expected from the reviewers to the reviewers.
The editor should ensure that the peer review process is carried out in a double blind review process and should not disclose authors to reviewers and reviewers to authors.
The editor should evaluate reviewers based on their timeliness and performance.
The editor should create a database of reviewers and update the database according to the performance of the reviewers.
The editor should remove reviewers who make rude and unqualified comments or return late from the reviewer list.
The editor should constantly renew and expand the referee list according to the referees' areas of expertise.

Relationships with Authors
The editor should continuously update the publication and writing rules and the sample template on what is expected of the authors.
The editor should evaluate the manuscripts submitted to the journal in terms of the journal's editorial rules, the importance and originality of the work, and if he/she decides to reject the manuscript during the first submission process, he/she should clearly and impartially communicate the reasons to the authors. In this process, if it is decided that the article needs to be revised in terms of grammar, punctuation and/or spelling rules (margins, proper referencing, etc.), the authors should be informed about this and they should be given time to make the necessary corrections.
Manuscripts should include the dates of submission and acceptance for publication. When authors request information about the status of their manuscripts, the authors should be informed about the status of their manuscripts in a way that does not disrupt the double blind review process.

Relations with the Editorial Board
The editor should communicate the publication and writing rules to the new or changed members of the editorial board and explain what is expected of them.
The editor should communicate the most up-to-date version of the publication and editorial rules to the members of the editorial board.
The editor should evaluate the members of the editorial board and select members who will actively participate in the development of the journal.
The editor should inform the members of the editorial board about their roles and responsibilities as follows

- To fulfil the necessary responsibilities in the operation of the journal

Publisher
Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal is published by Marmara University, Faculty of Sport Sciences. The ethical responsibilities of the publisher are as follows:
The publisher accepts that the decision-maker in the process of publishing an article in Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal and the refereeing process is the responsibility of the editorial board.
The publisher provides open, electronic and free access to the journal on the journal's web page.

Plagiarism and Unethical Behaviour
All articles submitted to Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal are scanned with Turnitin (https://www.turnitin.com/) software programme before publication. Articles with a similarity rate of 10% or less are accepted for publication. Articles exceeding this rate are examined in detail and if deemed necessary, they are sent back to the authors for revision or correction, and if plagiarism or unethical behaviour is detected, publication is rejected.
Some unethical behaviours are listed below:
Citing people as authors who did not contribute intellectually to the study.
Failure to acknowledge people who have contributed intellectually to the study as authors.
Failure to indicate if the article is derived from the author's master's/doctoral thesis or a project.
Slicing, i.e. publishing more than one article from a single study.
Failure to declare conflicts of interest regarding submitted manuscripts.
Deciphering the double blind review process.

Publication Fee
Eurasian Research in Sport Science Journal does not charge any processing fee under the name of publication or publication costs from the author or authors at any stage of submission, evaluation and publication of the articles. In addition, authors are not charged an article processing fee for the studies they send to the journal. It is a 100% non-profit free journal to encourage publication and publication in the field of Sports Sciences. The journal provides free access to the full text of all articles by providing a DOI number from the moment the article is accepted for publication.

Early View
Studies that are accepted after the evaluation phase is completed and the processes after acceptance are completed are made available for user access in early view. Studies published in early view are published in the volume and issue that the Editorial Board deems appropriate by giving the number of pages and are removed from the early view. Studies in early view may not be the final version to be published in the regular issue. Minor edits can be made to the article at this stage.
